Angelika was appointed to represent the 2nd Congressional district on the Colorado Community College System Board.  For the prior 16 years she served as the elected member of her congressional district on the Colorado State Board of Education, acting for 6 years as its chair.  Before that she served for 2 terms on the Boulder Valley School District Board of Education.

Schroeder earned a BS in mathematics, an MBA and a doctorate in accounting, all from the University of Colorado Boulder.  She is a former tax CPA and college professor of accounting, serving on the faculty of Metropolitan State University and teaching courses at CU.  Over the years she has joined many boards and commissions, including the Teacher and Special Services Professional Standards Board, the Alliance for Quality Teaching, the Education Leadership Council and the Colorado Public Education and Business Coalition.  Angelika currently is a commissioner on the Education Commission of the States and serves on the audit committee for the Community College System.
